🦷 Soothing Teething Troubles

The arrival of those first pearly whites often comes with swollen gums, waterfalls of drool, rosy red cheeks, and a whole lot of crankiness.

Gear to have on hand

  • 1 silicone (or refrigerable) teething ring.
  • 1 clean washcloth.
  • Infant paracetamol/acetaminophen (check with your doctor/pharmacist first).

What's the game plan?

  1. 1. The cold teething ring

Pop the teething ring in the fridge (never the freezer) before handing it over to gnaw on. The cold naturally numbs the sore spots.

  2. 2. The gum massage

Scrub your hands and gently rub baby's tender gums with the pad of your clean finger.

  3. 3. The chin patrol

Dab away drool from their chin and neck regularly to stop painful dribble rash in its tracks.

Classic mistakes

  • ❌ Freezing the teether rock-solid Anything too cold can cause frost burns to their delicate mouth and gums.
  • ❌ Using teething necklaces (amber or otherwise) They pose a serious choking hazard and strangulation risk if beads break off.
